Thirsty Monk Announces 4th Annual New Year’s Eve Keg Drop Celebration

Thirsty Monk Biltmore Park to welcome 2017 with a two-story keg drop and release of Woodstove Winter Ale.

ASHEVILLE, NC—New York City drops a ball, Atlanta drops a peach and Miami drops an orange. In Asheville, they drop a keg! Thirsty Monk continues a Beer City tradition with the return of their New Year’s Eve Keg Drop Celebration. Now in its fourth year, the two-story keg drop at Thirsty Monk Brewery & Pub in Biltmore Park has quickly become South Asheville’s premier New Year’s Eve event.

As visitors enter Biltmore Park on December 31st, the golden keg will come into view, lit up and glowing over the Thirsty Monk patio. The keg will descend at midnight, marking the beginning of 2017 as the bar taps their first keg of Thirsty Monk Brewery’s Woodstove Winter Ale and revelers toast to the New Year. The Keg Drop Celebration is free to attend and ample parking is available for guests.

Thirsty Monk welcomes 2017 as they look forward to another year full of exciting events and Thirsty Monk Brewery beers. Growler fills are now available at all Thirsty Monk locations and the brewery continues to expand upon their portfolio with the release of new small batch and seasonal offerings planned for the coming months. Visit for directions, event details, live tap lists and more.

About Woodstove Winter Ale
Woodstove Winter Ale (7.1% ABV) is brewed with freshly grated nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, and a hint of vanilla bean. The classic spice blend shines through in the nose and palate, while the addition of vanilla adds a silky richness and the use of Belgian candi sugar gives this Winter Warmer a unique complexity. As one appreciative drinker marveled: “The majesty of Norm’s beard, wonder of his smile, glory of his personality, and the spices of the season in a glass.”
